Laura Wehhofer is a freelance graphic designer and lecturer from Bremen. Under her label HANAYO she creates handmade jewelry and small wallhangings with self-pressed blossoms, dried plants and mushrooms, which are recorded in herbariums for eternity. The pressed flowers, plants and mushrooms are lovingly handcrafted in clear epoxy resin (made in Germany) and set in a brass frame.
Each piece of jewelry is unique because a natural product is preserved in the resin and each flower is unique. The flowers, plants and mushrooms are collected, pressed and dried themselves and prepared for preservation in the resin. Especially in demand are the earrings in which the filigree flowers of the wild carrot or forget-me-not flowers are embedded. These are the small fine white flowers in a circular arrangement.
